Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a Feeding your Demons Facilitator?

Please be aware that completion of Feeding Your Demons®: Level One (FYD I) and Level Two (FYD II) or completion of the Kapala Training does not grant authorization or permission to facilitate or use the process with other individuals or with groups. It is only for personal use.
Only Certified Feeding Your Demons® Psychotherapists and Facilitators can use the method to assist other individuals on a one-on-one basis. Please check here for an important clarification on facilitation for individuals versus groups.
FYD Facilitator Certification can only be accomplished through the Kapala Training Program at this time. If you intend to apply for Feeding Your Demons®  certification, you will need to do the following:
  1. Complete Kapala Training Levels 1 and 2.
  2. Provide documentation (Tracking Forms) showing that you have completed 54 solo and 54 partner sessions (both yours and partner’s Tracking form makes one partner session), totaling 108 sessions.
  3. Pass a test with an Authorized Tara Mandala Teacher showing that you can guide someone through the process by memory, without using the text.

How long does it take to complete the Magyu path?

The Magyu (Mother Lineage) Program is a life path, not something you do for a certificate like in a training program of some sort. It is meant to bring you to awakening and that takes a long time, much more time than is in the Magyu Program listed here. The Magyu Program is a container and a path on which you progress toward your own awakening. This path is also flexible so that people can really take it at their own pace. In Magyu you will have a Kalyanamitra or spiritual friend assigned to you. This person can help you to figure out what pace of practice is both in line with what you are able to do and what will help to give you a sense of continuity and depth and moving forward. The path typically can take between 8-10 years.

How often do I need to come to Tara Mandala when I am in Magyu?

This really depends on the pace at which you are moving through the practice requirements. On average a yearly visit to Tara Mandala is sufficient to sit a retreat and be taught the practices that would last you until your next years visit. If you are progressing more quickly through the practices then you might want to organise a couple of trips to Tara Mandala in one year. There is also no limit to the amount of times you can come in one year. You can also participate in retreats without the intention to begin the practices right away. Perhaps it is just the right time for you to take that retreat. You can also of course sit retreats that are not part of the Magyu path if you feel that a certain retreat is calling to you.

How can I install Zoom and join a Call?

Once you join Magyu you will have access to the Magyu members - only page where all of the Zoom call information for any Magyu meeting will be posted. You will access this through the Tara Mandala website and with your unique password. The Zoom app will automatically download when you start or join your first meeting. You can also manually download it here.

How do/can I download a recording?

This feature is currently unavailable at this time, but please know that the recordings will always be available in our archives.

How do I change my Sustaining Sangha amount?

If you have a Tara Mandala account (if you are a new Sustaining Sangha member (from 10/3/18) you will have one already set up, you can login to your account and change your amount from there.

If you do not have a Tara Mandala account you can contact Christine in account on accounts@taramandala.org or call 970 731 3711 ext 106 and ask her to change your amount.

Remember, to be in Magyu you need to maintain your monthly amount at $30 or more.

In October 2018 we will be transferring all Sustaining Sangha members so they will have an account and be able to manage their financials for themselves in this way (as above).

How do I update my credit card details?
