Small Hand Damaru in Traditional Sengden (Acacia) Wood with Painted Skin.
This remarkable damaru drum was used by Lama Tsultrim Allione during the August 2024 Machig Labdron empowerment during Tara Mandala's 30th Anniversary on-site celebration. This finely crafted small damaru is carved from traditional sengden (acacia) wood, known for its deep, resonant sound and symbolic significance. The dark wood contrasts beautifully with the painted skin, enhancing the ritual experience.
The damaru, a double-headed drum, is a vital tool in Tibetan Buddhist practice, often used in ceremonies to represent the union of wisdom and compassion, as well as the inseparable nature of emptiness and form. Included with the damaru is a custom brocade case and tail.
