A limited set of Naga tiles were created by Lama Gyurme after the Naga Puja retreat he held in August 2021. This tile shows Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of compassion, blessing the Nagas. The tile composite is such that it can be placed outside near a water source, as well as an altar or wall.
Nagas are divine half serpent, half human beings that dwell in all bodies of water and have both peaceful and wrathful forms. They are known for protecting meditators, extolling wisdom and displaying magical powers. We pay homage to the Nagas.
Making offerings to the Nagas on the astrological days that are associated with their activity, can play an important role in establishing harmony and balance in the environment, as well as curing many kinds of diseases.
